The way rage is set up in the book is useful for a game that takes place in sessions, i.e. tabletop, real time message boards/Discord servers etc., but not so much for a game set up on a play by post forum where time progresses a lot slower. As previously mentioned in another thread, rage does not reset til the end of the scene/thread it is used. The primary reason for this will make it easier for staff to track, but the added benefit is it will also portray how temporary rage ebbs and flows. At the end of the scene/thread a roll will be made to see what temporary rage the player will regain, and this is the number that will be carried forward from the end date of that thread.
A rage roll will be rolled at the end of the scene/thread in which rage was used to see where a player's temporary rag This is the number that will carry over to threads that take place after the end of the scene.
Example: DataStaker used up 2 Rage points in a scene set on Jan 1, the thread ends Jan 7. At that point staff will roll the dice to see what rage he gains back to his temporary pool. The roll of the dice is 3. Prior to his expenditure Datastalker had 4 temporary Rage, used two but now has gained three and now his temp Rage is 5. This is the number that will carry through all scenes that take place after Jan 7th, unless he engages in some sort of meditation/act to purposely bring his rage down to a more manageable form. This action can be dealt with in the character personal forum as a behind the scenes down time action.
This temporary rage should be noted in characters signatures as higher numbers of rage are noticeable to other players as well as NPCs.
And as always, there is that exception, Rage may be regained in the SAME scene it is used if there is another confrontation or humiliation ( As per the book PP 144 –145) This option will not be offered in scenes that are started before a current scene ends. No exceptions.
