Nebraska is a state of what can be considered contrast. The eastern part containing the states two biggest cities that are more urban sprawl than built up skyscrapers. The western part, smaller cities and town and vast rolling planted fields that give way to the sand hills and the thousands of acres of grazing land for cattle. By many it is simply a ‘fly-over state” Over looked and oft forgotten. But like every other corner of the world, supernatural denizens eke out an existence here, some more than others, just out of sight of Humanity.
The biggest city, and thus the one with the most supernatural beings is Omaha. It is the largest city in Nebraska in both population and urban sprawl. The city proper is approximately 130+ square miles, not counting the various smaller cities that are considered part of the “Omaha Metropolis”. It is the last large cities on I-80 heading west til you hit Colorado and it definitely is the last real “large" city if you are going up I-29 to the north. The Omaha-Council Bluffs metropolitan area consists of eight counties; five in Nebraska and three in Iowa. The metropolitan area now includes Harrison, Pottawattamie, and Mills Counties in Iowa and Washington, Douglas, Sarpy, Cass, and Saunders Counties in Nebraska. Omaha is generally divided into six geographic areas: Downtown, Midtown, North Omaha, South Omaha, West Omaha, and East Omaha. It is near here, down in Sarpy county, that Flat Water Sept is located, about thirty minutes give or take depending on one’s location from Omaha.
A little under an hour west and South is Lincoln, Nebraska, the state’s second biggest city and the State Capitol.
