Time and Timelines

Forum games do not move at the same speed as a sit-down table top game, or a game where everyone logs into a server to play in real time, it moves slower and as such there are certain considerations to take into account. For instance, a scene that would in real time only cover an hour or so, could actually take a week to finish. As such, there are certain rules the game will follow, especially in regard to any expenditures/losses made in a scene. Rage, Gnosis , Willpower, health etc used/lost in a scene will not be regained til AFTER that scene ends. This is to make it easier for staff to track gains and losses. In the case of Rage, this also helps show how Rage can ebb and flow through the course of a game.
This puts responsibility on the player to be mindful of their posts, in that you cannot refer to information in a scene that is still on going, once the scene is concluded that information can be used. Referring to information in an ongoing scene will most likely get the newer scene paused by staff until the previous scene is concluded. Because of this, back dating is mostly permitted, just clarify with staff first and to help keep track of the time line a note like the one below can be made at the beginning of the thread.
Feb 18th 2022 or two days after spring moot on March 22, 2022
Of course, if you are in a scene that is a plot scene, one with combat or potential combat, please hold off posting new scene til the current scene is completed.
When in doubt feel free to ask staff.
It will be very helpful if player’s maintain a time line in their forum to keep threads in order. Most thread time lines are going to be pretty flexible, and some scenes may actually get moved around to a more current time frame if needed. if a scene needs to be set for a certain “Exact day/date” (For example a Moot that happens on the spring Equinox would be a fixed point in time.) These scenes will be noted as fixed points of time at the time they are started.
While staff will track expenditure and gains, it also falls on the players to be aware of losses and gains. For example if WP was used in scene on Jan 1st and the player starts another scene Jan 4th but the first scene is still on going, you will still be down that WP in the Jan 4th scene.
